Historical tropical cyclones in Fiji
A selection of high-intensity cyclones documented in the historical archive and geographically related to the Fiji region. The archive shows 37 systems in this mode.
The hub highlights systems with documented maximum winds of at least 96 kt. Geographic relation does not mean impact: best-track positions inside the region do not prove landfall, damage or territorial impact. Records before 1950 require additional caution.

Tropical cyclone risk and geographical context in Fiji
Fiji is an island country in the South Pacific. Its cyclone season and exposure to ocean swells make timely local warnings especially important for coastal settlements and inter-island transport. The effects depend on storm track, intensity, rainfall, terrain and the vulnerability of each location; a cyclone does not need to make landfall at a particular point to create hazards.
Reading the live tracking information
The EarthSentra monitor summarizes the tropical cyclone information available from its connected sources. Compare the observation or advisory time, projected track and storm status. Forecast tracks carry uncertainty and can change as new official updates arrive; an absence of active storms on the monitor is not a guarantee of safety.
Where to check official warnings
For local decisions, consult advisories from Fiji Meteorological Service and national disaster management agencies. Local alerts, evacuation instructions and coastal hazard assessments take precedence over this informational map. Prepare for rain and flooding hazards as well as wind.
Regional and worldwide monitoring
See the global hurricane and tropical cyclone monitor. For basin-wide tracking, the World Meteorological Organization explains how regional specialized meteorological centres coordinate official tropical cyclone information.
